Plain-language summary. These Terms cover the Pylon Group corporate website. Content on this site is informational, not advice you can rely on as a substitute for a formal engagement. If you engage us for advisory work, the terms of that engagement are governed by your signed Master Services Agreement or Statement of Work, not by this page. Our software platforms have their own separate terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using thepylongroup.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Advosec, LLC d/b/a The Pylon Group ("Pylon Group," "we," "our," or "us"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Site.

2. Scope of These Terms

These Terms govern your use of the Site and any general inquiries you submit through it.

The terms governing other relationships with Pylon Group are separate:

  • Advisory engagements are governed by your signed Master Services Agreement (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW), or equivalent contract. Where those agreements conflict with these Terms, those agreements control.
  • Software platforms (Scout, Anvil, Command) are governed by their own platform-specific terms: Scout Terms of Service, Anvil Terms of Service, and Command Terms of Service.

3. Description of the Site

The Site is the marketing and informational website for the Pylon Group advisory practice and the Scout, Anvil, and Command software portfolio. The Site includes:

  • Information about our services and software platforms
  • Field Notes (operator perspective articles)
  • Dispatch (press releases and announcements)
  • Founder background and firm information
  • A contact form for inbound inquiries

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.

4. No Professional Advice

Content on the Site, including Field Notes, Dispatch announcements, and service descriptions, is provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal, regulatory, security, tax, financial, or other professional advice. Reading content on the Site does not create an advisory or consulting relationship between you and Pylon Group.

If you need advice tailored to your organization, engage us through a formal advisory engagement or consult appropriate counsel. We are not responsible for actions you take based on content on the Site outside of a formal engagement.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, our infrastructure, or any related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity, performance, or availability of the Site
  • Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the Site or our contact form
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract content from the Site without our prior written consent
  • Use the Site or any content from it to train machine learning models without our prior written consent
  • Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information through the contact form
  • Use the Site in a manner that infringes on the rights of others

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations, restrict access, and pursue available legal remedies.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site, including its content, design, code, branding, the Pylon Group name and mark, the Scout, Anvil, and Command product names, Field Notes content, Dispatch content, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Advosec, LLC d/b/a The Pylon Group or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may view, share, and quote short excerpts of content on the Site for personal or business reference purposes with attribution to The Pylon Group. You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute substantial portions of Site content, modify or create derivative works, remove copyright or attribution notices, or use Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, service marks, or trade names.

7. Confidentiality of Inquiries

Information you submit through the contact form or share in early conversations with us before signing an MSA or SOW is treated as commercially sensitive and is not disclosed to third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy. However, pre-engagement conversations do not create a formal confidentiality obligation comparable to an executed MSA. If you need explicit confidentiality protection before signing an engagement, request a Mutual NDA and we will execute one before substantive disclosure.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services (LinkedIn, vendor partners, service providers, and content sources we reference). We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, practices, or terms. Your interaction with any third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy practices.

9. Site Availability

We strive to keep the Site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We may suspend the Site for maintenance, updates, or infrastructure changes without notice. We are not liable for any consequences of Site unavailability.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and all content on it are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and availability. We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.

Content on the Site reflects the views of the authors at the time of publication and may not reflect current circumstances, regulations, or our current position. Field Notes and Dispatch content is opinion and analysis, not a guarantee of any outcome.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Advosec, LLC d/b/a The Pylon Group, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any content on it, regardless of the theory of liability and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100). This limitation applies regardless of the number of claims and does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Liability under a separately executed advisory engagement is governed by the limitation of liability provisions in that engagement's MSA or SOW, not by this Section.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Advosec, LLC d/b/a The Pylon Group and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) information you submit through the Site.

13. Termination of Access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or are engaging in conduct that may be harmful to the Site, our users, or our practice. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive termination.

14. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the Site.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these Terms.

16. General Provisions

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Advosec, LLC d/b/a The Pylon Group with respect to your use of the Site. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
